Tanzanian duo held for overstaying

ANJUNA: Anjuna Police arrested two foreign nationals from Tanzania for staying illegally in the country without a valid travel document. Both the accused namely Natasha Mlelwa and Rehama Seme in their mid-twenties were staying in a rented room belonging to Eknath Parab at Muddi, Anjuna.
Anjuna PI Navlesh Dessai said that on the basis of suspicion they were arrested on Sunday but after verification, an offence has been registered for overstaying without visa. They were later produced before JMFC, Mapusa and remanded to police custody.
As the duo was not in possession of any passport, visa or any travel document they were further booked under Sections 3(2)(a) and 6(a) of Passport Entry into India Rules, Section 6(a) of Passport Act, Section 7(3)(iii) of Foreigners Order Act 1946 read with Section 14 of the Foreigners Act 1948.
Further investigation is in progress.
