The North Goa Collectorate, in association with Goa IT department, has launched the single window system for conversions of land, whereas South Goa Collectorate launched online partition of land.
With the e-service facility people need not visit the departments concerned with land conversion and the partition, but visit only one office to get the process completed. This system will be transparent and services will be delivered in a time-bound manner.
Regular monitoring by the head of the department will be possible and automatic alarms will be raised by the system if any file is pending for longer than the prescribed time. The applicant will also get details through SMS of the status of the partition and conversion.
Parsekar said this is the beginning and slowly all services will come to the citizen’s doorstep.
South Goa Collectorate has launched other e-services like, issue of Form I & XIV, residence certificate, divergence certificate, income certificate, caste certificate, character certificate and certificate for freedom fighters children. All the services have been initially started in Dharbandora, Canacona and Sanguem talukas. The South Goa collector said the service will reach every village panchayat in the next phase.
Transport department has launched smart card based registration certificate and driving license and e-payment of taxes. Paying taxes like registration fees, road tax, passenger tax and dealer deposits has been made easier as payment can be done at any time without visiting the department.
Speaking at the function Parsekar said people visiting the departments were having a very bad experience and in turn the government was getting a bad name. With the launch of e-services people will not suffer and there will be transparency in the system, Parsekar said.
Acting chief secretary R K Srivastava claimed that with e-services, corruption and allegations of corruption will end. “Many times departments have been accused of the corruption and inefficiency, but with this initiative transparency will come in the departments,” Srivastava said.
Speaking on the need of IT development, Parsekar said that 6000 sq mts of land have been acquired for the electronic city in Tuem and efforts are on to set up an IT park at Chimbel.
