PANJIM: Expressing shock over non-inclusion of water bodies in the Regional Plan 2021 (RP21), Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Thursday said these will be included while undertaking rectification of the land plan, which is currently in process.
“It is very surprising to see that water bodies are not shown in the Regional Plan. If it is so then I will make sure that they are incorporated in the plan while making necessary corrections,” Parsekar assured the public present at the interactive session on ‘Mhadei Water dispute – its implications on Goa’.
Earlier, Advocate General Atmaram Nadkarni had brought to the notice of the government that RP21 does not speak about the need of water harvesting. “The land plan has everything like conversion. But it has not touched on important issue like water harvesting,” he said appealing to the government to make it mandatory for every household to have water harvesting projects.
