MARGAO: Following the sighting of a tiger, the State Forest Department has issued a notice to the local villagers of Mollem warning them and asking them to take precautions.
In the notice that was issued to the Sarpanch of Mollem village panchayat, the Range Forest Officer, Wildlife–Mollem Dr Sidhesh Naik spoke about the precautions that need to be taken due to the presence of tiger movement at Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park.

A copy of the notice was also sent to the Deputy Conservator of Forests, Wildlife in Panjim for information and also the Veterinary Officer, Animal Husbandry in Mollem for creating awareness amongst the livestock farmers.
“In this regard, you are kindly requested to create awareness on tiger movement within the villages of your panchayat which are falling in the corridor areas of Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park. Further, villagers may be informed not to stray the livestock such as cattle, goats, etc for grazing, collection of firewood from the wildlife protected areas of Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park to avoid any untoward incidents,” read the notice of the Forest Department.
