PANJIM: The Academic Council of Goa University has finalized the syllabus for the undergraduate course under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) as it intends to launch the programme from the coming academic year.
At its meeting on Monday the council, chaired by Vice Chancellor Dr Satish Shetye, gave its nod to the comprehensive syllabus following an approval from the Board of Studies.
The development comes after the council, in its meeting last Friday, recommended implementing CBCS for first year students across all colleges. Its implementation from the academic year 2016-17 is subject to approval from the Chancellor and Goa Governor Mridula Sinha.
Goa University Registrar V P Kamat revealed that the ordinance has been forwarded to the executive council, from where it will be sent to the Chancellor for a final nod. The EC is expected to meet before this month-end.
