Saligao United booked the finals berth with a solitary goal win against Carmona Sports Club in Boris do Rego memorial soccer tournament organised by Piedade Youth Association in collaboration with Rego Family, at Maddant ground, Divar, on Saturday.
There was no score at half time.
The teams started to play on an attacking mode, displaying excellent skills. Carmona made the first move for the goal but to their utter dismay, their effort hit the Saligao crossbar. Immediately, their second try saw the same fate, eluding them the opener.
With these two narrow misses, Saligao gathered pace and their strikers made some moves in the goal area but could not penetrate the Carmona defence.
In the second half, Saligao came up with renewed ideas and scored the all-important goal through Pravin Jadav.
