MARGAO: Former minister Mickky Pacheco on Monday said Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s statement that there would be no government jobs for the next few months just reveals the double standards of the government.
Pacheco pointed out that on the one hand the chief minister was telling MLAs that there would not be government jobs for the next few months but on the other hand he continues to grant extension to those people who have retired from service.
“There are no vacant posts created when extensions are granted to retired officials as promotions are blocked,” he alleged and charged that the chief minister was deliberately creating this situation, pointing out to various officials including chief engineers, who have been granted extension.
“At a public meeting the chief minister had expressed concern over the fact that many engineers are unemployed but he is denying them job opportunities by giving extensions to retired engineers,” Mickky alleged.
and further claimed that some officials have been given an extension of even one year.
