BENAULIM: A fine brace from Flesban Ferrao helped St Rock Youth Club beat UC Benaulim in the Goa Football Association Third Division League match played at Benaulim ground, on Tuesday.
The winners scored both the goals in the second half of the play.
Meanwhile at Ambelim ground, SCS Poitomado scored a 3-2 win over Carmona SC.
There was hardly any action in the first half, but Trenoy Dias didn’t leave it completely damp as he gave Poitomado a surprise lead in the 43rd minute against a run of play.
Post resumption, SCS Poitomado inflated their lead through Benson Fernandes.
Carmona SC didn’t give up easily as despite going down 0-2, they fought gallantly and pulled a goal back through Sydon Furtado.
The goal gave hopes to the side and in their bid to find the leveller, Carmona defence was left exposed and Preenoy Mascarenhas restored their two goal cushion with a 66th minute strike.
Carmona SC pulled another goal back through Sydon Furtado who was outstanding for his side.
Our Lady of Gloria SC and Raia SC played out a 2-2 draw, at Raia ground.
