Seraulim VP special gram sabha opposes Bhumiputra Bill

SERAULIM: The Seraulim panchayat last Sunday declared its strong opposition to the recently hastily passed Goa Bhumiputra Adhikarini Bill 2021 in the just concluded three Goa Legisltaive Assembly sessions.
Earlier Herald had reported that the Chinchinim-Deussua panchayat was the first Salcete village panchayat to raise its voice against the Bill followed by the village panchayats of Camurlim and Sirlim-Dramapur.
Seraulim sarpanch Leslie Dourado informed, “On the occasion of India’s Independence Day widely celebrated throughout the nation on Sunday, August 15, the flag hoisting function was held within the premises of the Seraulim village panchayat at 8.30 am followed by the special Gram Sabha wherein all the seven panchayat members present unanimously opposed the Goa Bhumiputra Adhikarini Bill 2021.”
“A proposal had been received by the panchayat with regard to the same from a Duncolim-Seraulim resident Olavo D’Souza,” he added.
