PANJIM: Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) on Wednesday introduced an Online Consent Management and Monitoring System (OCMMS) developed by the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC) for filing consent applications before the board.
Goa became the 19th State in the country to implement OCMMS; a web based Generic Application Software Package for automating the workflow associated with Consent Management and Monitoring System.
GSPCB chairman Ganesh Shetgaonkar said that OCMMS is a web based application for Consent Management for the use of GSPCB. “The system is developed to improve the efficiency of the processing of the consent applications and enhance the transparency with which the same are granted,” he said.
The system allows the industries for the online submission of application for Consent to Establish (CTE)/Consent to Operate (CTO) and authorization for various categories of industries and facilities like waste management. This system is helpful for concerned officials of SPCB for online monitoring of various activities of SPCBs/PCCs. The system was launched by Industries Secretary IAS Sudhir Mahajan.
