OLD MARDOL-VERNA: Verna Veterans registered a solitary goal win over Calangute Veterans to move into the next round of the Marc Caterers Veterans football, at Old Mardol Verna, on Tuesday.
In the first half, both the teams missed several chances but could not find the net to score.

In the second half , Verna’s Alwyn and Sudan guarded the defence line thus prevented Calangute’s Bruno Coutinho from scoring two goals in the 48th and 69th minutes.
Thereafter, Verna’s Rosario Carvalho foxed the Calangute defenders and took a curling shot which dipped into Calangute net.
