Superintendent of Police and South Goa Collector of “inhuman and immoral” treatment over his wife’s death. He has also demanded that the body of his wife, Suchitra Udaivar (63), be handed over for the final rites.
“The immoral and insensitive attitude of Hospicio officials and other authorities has left me shell-shocked and makes me wonder whether someone is expecting money from me for the release of my wife’s body. I won’t ever pay a penny to anybody to get my rights,” said Subhash at a press briefing on Thursday.
According to information, Suchitra and her son Anupam Udaivar were staying at Milan Hotel, Margao. She was being treated by Dr Gopal Vaidhya in Margao and expired on January 18 at 2 pm while being taken to Hospicio in an ambulance.
“The body of my wife was lying unattended in the hospital for more than eight hours, while my son ran from pillar to post for the death certificate to release the body. Dr Vaidhya, after understanding the situation, issued a medical certificate, which my son produced and got the death certificate made,” said Subhash.
