Vasco: The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Goa Customs apprehended an international tourist at Dabolim International airport on Monday evening and seized gold worth Rs 63,64,837 which was in the form of a paste.
Based on their AIU intel, Customs officials apprehended the overseas tourist who was travelling to Bengaluru via Goa by Air India flight no.AI-994. Customs officials recovered gold in the form of a paste from that tourist worth Rs 63,64,837.
The whole exercise was conducted under the supervision of Joint Commissioner of Customs, Pradnyasheel Jumle under the guidance of Commissioner of Goa Customs, Mihir Ranjan.
“Since April 2019, Air Intelligence Unit of Goa Customs Commissionerate has seized gold worth Rs 1.68 crore at Dabolim International Airport,” said a Customs press release.
