PANJIM: St Xavier’s College, Mapusa and Govt College, Khandola emerged Champions in boys and girls section respectively in the 7th Goa Inter-College Tennis Ball Cricket Championship organised by Goa Tennis Ball Cricket Association and Brahma Sports Club, Sanquelim in collaboration with The Sports Authority of Goa, on Thursday.
St Xavier’s College boys defeated Dempo College of Commerce, Cujira by 15 runs in the final. Electing to bat first St Xavier’s College scored 53 runs in allotted 6 overs.
Rajddep scored 34 runs and Raj scored 9 runs. In reply Dempo College could score only 38 runs in allotted overs.
D.M.C. College, Mapusa defeated Mallikarjun College, Canacona to clinch the third place.
Elsewhere, Government College, Khandola girls defeated D.M.C. College, Mapusa in the final.
Electing to bat first Govt. College scored 41 runs in allotted 6 overs. Diksha scored 20 runs while Alpita scored 12 runs.
In reply DMC College could score 39 runs in 6 overs losing the match by narrow 2 runs.
Zantye College, Bicholim defeated Ganpat parsekar College, Pernem to clinch the third place.
