Babutes Boys victorious

PANJIM: Babutes Boys, Gaura Vaddo, Calangute edged past Singham Returns, Saipem, Candolim 2-1 in the final of 4th all-Goa 3-a-side tie-breaker football tournament in memory of Ashley Luis and Suhas Parsekar organised by Gaura Vaddo Boyz, at Gaura Vaddo ground, Calangute, on Sunday.

In all, 64 teams participated in the tournament.
Chief guest Pablo Galardo, Spanish player of Sporting Clube de Goa gave away the prizes in the presence of guest of honour, Joseph Sequeira, ex Sarpanch of village panchayat Calangute and other dignitaries.
Winners and runners-up were awarded cash prizes of Rs 11,000 and Rs 9,000 respectively along with trophies.
The losing semi-finalists, St Peter Boys, Calangute and V 3 Boys, Gaura Vaddo were awarded Rs 2000 each. 
Other individual prizes were awarded to Best Shooter Gokuldas, Best goalkeeper Pritesh Matkar, Upcoming Players Jovito and Earl, Promising player Dattaraj Palkar.
Special invitees Alex Fernandes, president of Calangute Association; Kabir Shirodkar, president of St Savio SC, Calangute; Oscar Bruzon, head coach of Sporting Clube de Goa; Samir Naik, Dempo SC and former India international footballer; Prashant Korgaonkar, ex president of St Savio SC, Calangute; Rajendra Korgaonkar, social worker; Alaric Luis, brother of Late Ashley Luis and Laximan Parsekar, brother of late Suhas Parsekar were present.
