MARGAO: Rachel Pereira from Presentation School emerged victorious at the Salcete Taluka School Student’s July 2024 Practice Tournament, organised by Unique Chess Academy and Chess RCC Fatorda, at SAG Multipurpose Hall, Fatorda.
Rachel defeated Satyam Phal in the final round to maintain an unbeaten streak and score a perfect 8 out of 8 points.

Joshua Mark Telles from Manovikas School secured the second position with an impressive 7 points, followed by Aaryavrat Rasiket Naik Desai from Vidya Vikas Academy, who finished in third place with 6.5 points.

In addition to the individual accolades, the tournament saw a remarkable tie for the Highest Participation Trophy. Both Manovikas School and Vidya Vikas Academy had 16 participants each. However, the points tally favoured Manovikas School, earning them the prestigious trophy. A special mention goes to Mahila & Nutan School for their commendable participation with 15 students.
