The tournament was inaugurated by Damodar Naik (President, Mangirish youth club) on the occasion of International Chess Day at Wagle high school, Mangeshi. Chief Arbiter Arvind Mhamal highlighted the importance of ‘International Chess Day’.
The tournament is being organised by Ponda taluka chess association under the auspices of Goa Chess Association.
