TMC Goa announced Griha Laxmi Scheme, where a
female head of the every household will get Rs 5000 every month, through online
bank transfer. The benefits will be extended to 3.5 lakh families in Goa. The
scheme, TMC said, will cost the govt Rs 1500 to 2000 crore which is 6 to 8% of
the Budget, homework for which has been done by the party, it claimed. The
envelopes with the letter and card will be delivered to every home and there is
no need to stand in line. This is a concrete policy to curb inflation, TMC
stated.
At a press conference on Saturday, TMC Goa
In-charge Mohua Moitra stated that although Rs 270 crore is allocated for the
present govt scheme by the BJP Govt, the benefits are extended only to 1.3 lakh
families and only Rs 140 crore is utilized. If money is put in people’s hands,
it will hit the economy faster, she said. TMC plans to move from door to door
and deliver the Griha Laxmi envelopes. The people have to SMS the unique
identification number which is present on the Griha Laxmi Card, to the given
mobile number, and a PIN number is given. Once the PIN number is inserted the
registration is done.
TMC Member Kiran Kandolkar said that the scheme
will be extended to 3.5lakh ration card holders. There is no need to stand in
line. The bank details will be collected after the TMC govt comes to power. He
said,the TMC is the only party which is not dependent on any mining company,
adding, the party would start legal mining to benefit the 2.5 lakh mining
workers. Kiran also alleged that Goa is in debt due to the corrupt Pramod
Sawant govt.
TMC Member Adv. Yatish Naik said the Goa BJP
govt has no policy to curb inflation. There is need to have a scheme to fight
inflation. TMC’s Griha Laxmi scheme is a policy approach to fight inflation, he
claimed. The scheme is not a favour done to the people as projected by BJP
govt, but it is a right of the people, he said.
