MAPUSA: BAFF managed to edge past Saligao United SC by 2-1 margin in the inaugural match of Goveia Cup 2023 organised by YSC Colvale at Colvale church ground, on Saturday.
In the 17th minute, Pranav Gaonkar put BAFF ahead with a powerful header off a Pratik Tirodkar cross, 1-0.

Just three minutes later, Saligao United SC got the equaliser through an own goal as a cross by Charnel Fernandes took a deflection off Raju Abhigeri’s leg, to make it, 1-1.
On crossing over, BAFF’s Pratik Tirodkar latched a stinging 30-yard left footer which crashed into the back of the nylons, beating Saligao United SC’s custodian Agnelo hands down.
BAFF’s Pranav Gaonkar received the man-of-the-match award.
