PANJIM: Goa First has questioned Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s move to give clean chit to Urban Development Minister Milind Naik without ascertaining the cargo quality, when there is no clarity on its (cargo) condition in the vessel.
The NGO blamed the MPT chief and vessel owner without naming and blaming the local MLA Milind Naik.
At a press conference held in the city, Parshuram Sonurlekar of Goa First has called upon the Goa government to conduct a thorough investigation in the Nu Shi Nalini vessel and demanded that the guilty be punished.
Sonurlekar wondered as to why Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is frequently holding closed-door meetings with the MPT chief on the issue when the people should be made aware about the status of the vessel.
Another Goa First member alleged that the State government has taken the people for granted and if the government was concerned about common man then this episode could have been avoided long ago.
When asked as to who was to be held responsible, Sonurlekar said the MPT chairman and the vessel owner is to be blamed.
Whether they blame local MLA for Nu Shi Nalini episode, Sonurlekar refused to name anyone but reiterated that whosoever is involved needs to be punished as per law.
