Caterer told to face cross-examination

PANJIM: The Goa Human Rights Commission (GHRC) headed by retired Justice U V Bakre and comprising of former District Judges Desmond D’Costa and Pramod Kamat on Friday directed Pradosh Amoncar of Bicholim-based Amoncar Classic Caterers to face cross-examination by Adv Aires Rodrigues in the 2016 BRICS Summit food scam case.

Allowing the application filed by social activist Adv Rodrigues to cross examine the caterer, the GHRC in its order has stated that this was a fit case to allow Rodrigues to cross examine as he had made out sufficient grounds to allow his application.

Pointing out that the endeavour has to be to arrive at the truth in respect of the human rights violations of police personnel who were on duty during the 2016 BRICS Summit, the GHRC has directed Pradosh Amoncar to file his affidavit in evidence and face cross examination by Adv Rodrigues.
