PANJIM: The State Cabinet on Tuesday approved five posts of public prosecutors and 13 posts for the Human Resource Development Corporation.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told media that the posts have been created because there are now fast track courts, session courts and the like. “This is reform…,” he told media during his Cabinet briefing, arguing that this would result in faster delivery of justice.
The Cabinet also cleared 13 posts in Human Resource Development Corporation to make the corporation functional.
The Cabinet has also sanctioned over Rs 71 lakh for conservation purposes of Santa Monica Chapel at Ela.
He also said that agriculture cooperative societies which have completed 50 years would be given Rs 2 lakh. There were approximately around 13-14 such societies.
The Cabinet also decided that in declared Industrial areas, the committee headed by the MD as chairman and 5-member committee would have all the powers from the planning angle ~ in addition to the power it exercises with regard to permissions. Normally these powers are exercised by panchayats and municipal bodies.
The Cabinet also decided that exemptions which had lapsed with regards to small scale industries would be restored and there was a correction in VAT. “This are not new taxes, but (just made) to correct the difficulties,” he said.
