SINQUETIM: Chinchinim Veterans scored on either side of halftime to get past Vasco Veterans 2-1 in the Under 50 GVFC Veterans football tournament, at the Sinquetim ground, on Wednesday
Leading at halftime through a 18th minute Presley Pereira goal, Chinchinim doubled their lead midway through the second when Nicolau Borges tapped in from close after Vasco goalkeeper Joao Fernandes had spilled a stiff Methy Dias attempt.

Vasco fought well and gave themselves a chance to stay in the game after Nicolau Rodrigues placed the ball past Jose Fernandes.
Thereafter, Vasco went all out in search of an equaliser, but found it tough to breach the Chinchinim defence.
On Tuesday, Quepem Veterans edged past Apollo 11 Varca Veterans 3-2 to advance to the next round on Tuesday.
Sandric Fernandes secured a quick brace in the 15th and 16th minutes after Varca had taken the lead in the sixth minute through a Dinesh Naik’s stunner.
Raju Cardozo put Varca on level terms five minutes after the re-start, but substitute Theophile Dias secured what proved to be the match-winner four minutes later. Varca tried their best to draw level, but the Quepem defenders did well to hold them at bay. Quepem Veterans will next meet SAI Veterans.
