They believe the absence of proper signage indicating entry to the internal roads con-tributes to these accidents.

Aureliano Pango, a resident of Arlem, emphasised that this location has become an ac-cident-prone zone in recent days, and locals often have to rush to the scene to provide assistance. He noted the confusion among motorists due to the site’s status as both a National Highway and a connector to internal village bylanes.

Rosario Fernandes, another resident, highlighted that he had raised the issue at the re-cent village panchayat’s gram sabha and demanded the installation of speed breakers. He stressed the need for authorities to take this issue seriously, as the accidents have resulted in significant damage, injuries, and even loss of life. Fernandes proposed the installation of speed breakers on internal roads and proper traffic signboards to improve safety for the public.
