PANJIM: With possibility of formation of weak circulation off Konkan coast, the Goa IMD has issued Yellow colour warning for the coastal State till October 18.
IMD has warned of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall and lightening activities at isolated places across the State.
The weather department has issued advisory with precautions to be taken during thunderstorms like avoid working in open areas or fields, avoid taking shelter below tree or structures, stay away from electric poles among others.
Several parts of the State recorded moderate to heavy rains. Parts of Sattari, Bicholim, remained flooded.
From October 1 till date, State received 43.1mm of post monsoon showers as against the normal average of 105.9 mm, which is 59 per cent deficit.
The southwest monsoon has already missed its normal date of withdrawal from Goa, which is October 14. IMD has predicted that monsoon withdrawal will be delay by six days.
