MARGAO: The Margao youth wing of the BJP on Thursday dared Margao MLA Digambar Kamat to come out in the open and clarify about his total failure to resolve the traffic congestion and parking problem plaguing the city.
Yuva Morcha President Abhishek Kakodkar said the Margao MLA should further explain his failure to handle the garbage hazards inspite of Margao Municipality having its own garbage dumping yard at Sonsodo.
“He should explain his role in irregular conversion of zones to suit the land mafia without even considering its impact on the local infrastructure and the fate of the transport plaza, the satellite market and the KTC bus stand”, he said.
He said Kamat used to previously boast only about the Ravindra bhavan and Ana Fonte. “He has systematically forgotten that both these projects were passed by the then Parrikar government”, he said, while challenging the Margao MLA to cite a single sizeable project executed in Margao during his tenure as Congress Minister or Chief Minister.
As far as the ring road project is concerned Kakodkar said the project has become a shame to the Margao city since the same is pending for the last eight years and is only being used as a parking lot for unauthorised buses and trucks.
