In Calangute, the musical show to mark the feast had to be cancelled due to downpour and cyclonic winds. The revellers who had gathered in large numbers to enjoy the show had to return disappointed. The pandals erected in front of the chapels at Poriat and Tivai waddo, Calangute, came crashing down due to high velocity winds. The contractor for the pandals had to dismantle and re-erect the same due to ongoing novenas which begin Thursday.
In parts of Candolim, Arpora-Nagoa and Parra, trees were uprooted blocking road access and disrupting vehicular traffic, however no major roads were affected. Locals suffered losses due to felling of fruit bearing trees while others lost the mangoes causing losses of thousands of rupees. Two wheelers were also damaged due to felling of palm leaves, etc. The water supply was also affected due to power shut down in the coastal Villages of Calangute.
