MARGAO: The shifting of Hospicio to the new South Goa District Hospital (SGDH) is almost complete and hence all the OPDs will be functional from October 16 onwards.
Hospicio officials have expressed hope that the shifting of Hospicio to SGDH will provide a huge relief to the residents of South Goa, as the hospital is fully equipped with the maximum healthcare facilities.
According to sources, the shifting of nearly 20 OPDs was completed on Thursday. Earlier, the medicine ward was moved to the SGDH. Only gynaecology and survey, besides radiology will remain in the old Hospicio building till these facilities are provided in the district hospital.
Dr Deepa Correia Afonso, Medical Superintendent of Hospicio had sought people cooperation in providing better healthcare services,
The third floor of the SGDH has been kept vacant for COVID patients in case of a third wave.
