PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar blames the consumer for water wastage while he fails to take responsibility of his lackadaisical engineers for timely repairs of such damage pipelines. This damage is caused by registered PWD contractors who avail of these PWD contracts.
A 1000 litres of water has drained into the Siolim drainage system on MDR-6 road near the house of Sir Madhwalkar /St Francis Xavier’s High School. Calling your PWD water section (Mapusa) was futile while the Assistant Engineer in charge of Siolim is having a sound sleep. He does not bother to check or improve on the service.
Sudin Dhavalikar it’s high time you introduce all round emergency response team to attend emergency calls after normal working hours from 5 pm to 9 am next day. This team should be able to isolate valve or cut off water supply of the damaged supply line rather then send treated precious water into the drains or roads.
The Chief Engineer of PWD should set up a Consumer Redressal Cell similar to that being set up by the Govt. of Goa Electricity Dept. as a service provider rather than make consumers run from pillar to post to address their grievances. He should also pull up the negligent Engineers for poor and deficiency in service.
