Popular Konkani Tiatr Festival: A Celebration of Goa’s Rich Theatre Tradition

The Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG), in collaboration with Ravindra Bhavan Curchorem, has organized a vibrant Popular Konkani Tiatr Festival aimed at promoting Goa’s rich tiatr culture. The festival, which will feature a total of eight spectacular tiatrs, offers a unique opportunity for the public to immerse themselves in the traditional Konkani theatre scene. The performances will be held in two locations: three shows in Curchorem and five in Vasco, making it accessible to a wider audience across Goa. Best of all, entry to all the performances is free, encouraging greater participation from the community.

The press conference for the event was attended by notable figures, including Anthony Barbosa, President of the Tiatr Academy of Goa; William Fernandes, General Council Member of the Tiatr Academy of Goa; Jesus Antao, General Council Member; and Leslie Pereira, Board Member of Ravindra Bhavan Curchorem. Together, they emphasized the importance of this festival in preserving and promoting Konkani tiatr as a vital part of Goa’s cultural heritage.
