India’s high-profile Women’s ODI World Cup clash against defending champions Australia in Visakhapatnam on Sunday has officially sold out, the ICC confirmed. The Indian team’s next group-stage game against England in Indore has also reached full capacity.
The Women in Blue’s recent defeat to South Africa drew over 12,000 spectators to the ACA-VDCA Stadium on Thursday, but a larger turnout was anticipated for the marquee Australia fixture.

“The South Africa match had good momentum, but being a working day for offices, schools, and colleges, coupled with rain, affected attendance,” said Sana Satish Babu, Andhra Cricket Association secretary.
“Fortunately, the Australia match falls on a Sunday, and we ensured ticket prices were reasonable — ₹100, ₹150, and ₹250,” he added.
Visakhapatnam is set to host three more fixtures: Bangladesh vs South Africa (October 13), Australia vs Bangladesh (October 16), and England vs New Zealand (October 26). The ACA has also arranged for young female cricketers from other districts to attend non-India matches, providing transportation, meals, and accommodation to inspire the next generation.
