Goa and Services players try to overpower each other to take control of the match at Bangalore Football Stadium, Bengaluru, on Saturday
MAPUSA: Goa went down fighting to Services by 4-0 margin in the 79th National Football Championship Santosh Trophy 2025-26 played at the Bangalore Football Stadium, Bengaluru, on Saturday. Goa did start brightly and had three good attempts at the rival goal but failed to find the target through Sankalp twice and Selwyn Miranda. On crossing ends, Goa continued to dictate terms and had one more attempt at the rival goal but Joshua D’Silva missed the target. Finally, in the 59th minute, Services scored through Abhishek Pawar off a deflection. There was no looking back for Services as they hammered three more quick goals in the 64th, 67th and 69th minute of play. Abhishek Pawar netted his brace with Roshan Panna and Vijay J scoring two more goals to complete the rout 4-0.
