The International Cricket Council (ICC) is revising the media accreditation process for Bangladeshi journalists ahead of the T20 World Cup in India, following Bangladesh’s withdrawal from the tournament citing security concerns. Some journalists from Bangladesh reported their accreditation requests were rejected, prompting the ICC to review and adjust the process.
Sources explained that changes in the number of requests and match schedules required recalibration of the accreditation lists. Around 80–90 journalists applied, but under country quotas, only about 40 applications can be approved. ICC decisions are guided by the recommendations of the respective home boards.
