Kamat further said that the present ruling councillors in the Margao Municipal Council are aligned with him as well as BJP state president Damu Naik, strengthening the party’s position ahead of the elections.

Recently, the state government increased the strength of the MMC from 25 to 27 members by creating two additional wards, a move that is expected to play a role in the electoral strategy of political parties.

The minister expressed confidence that the BJP will perform strongly in the municipal elections whenever they are held.
