Acting on the directions of the South Goa Collector, authorities on Thursday demolished the gallery portion of the Holy Family Building located opposite Z Square in Margao after the structure was declared unsafe.
Officials stated that the demolition was undertaken as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety ahead of the approaching monsoon season, when weakened structures pose a higher risk of collapse.

Authorities further informed that as many as 21 unsafe buildings have been identified across the Margao area, with inspections and necessary action being carried out to prevent potential accidents during the rains.
