MARGAO: With an eye on the upcoming Lok Sabha (LS) elections, BJP state president Sadanand Tanavade said the party has already started working to achieve its goal of winning the South Goa seat.

His comments come on the heels of recent statements made by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant about getting the South Goa parliamentary seat back into the BJP fold and also about winning more Assembly seats from South Goa, especially Salcete taluka.
Tanavade also spoke about how the party is focusing on improving its tally in South Goa for the next Assembly elections by strengthening their grassroots base at the booth level in all the constituencies of the district.
The BJP Goa Chief was speaking at a function held at the party’s South Goa headquarters during which 100 people from Velim constituency joined BJP.
BJP’s candidate for the Velim seat for the Assembly elections added that the government, both at the State and Central level, are keen on converting Velim panchayat amongst others into model panchayats for the State.
On a political front, Tanavade said the emphasis is on building confidence amongst the party’s karyakartas about the LS polls in South Goa as they had been frustrated during the previous LS elections where BJP had tasted defeat.
