Old Goa Police Arrest Man with 426 Grams of Ganja Worth Rs 40,000 in Corlim Narcotics Raid

Old Goa Police arrested a 37-year-old man during a narcotics raid conducted at Calvaddo in Corlim, allegedly recovering 426 grams of ganja valued at approximately Rs 40,000 from his possession.

The accused, identified as Deshpal Morje, a resident of Old Goa, was apprehended during the operation after police allegedly found him in illegal possession of the contraband.

The seized ganja has an estimated market value of Rs 40,000. Police have registered a case under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and have launched further investigations to determine the source of the narcotics and whether the accused has links to a larger drug distribution network.

Old Goa Police said the operation forms part of their ongoing drive against the illegal narcotics trade in the region.
