The Goa Coalition for Women’s Reservation with Inclusion and Federalism has urged the state government to introduce a resolution during the upcoming Assembly session seeking the immediate implementation of 33% reservation for women in Parliament and State Assemblies.
The Coalition said the issue has become particularly urgent with Goa scheduled to go to the polls in 2027. It warned that any delay in implementing the reservation could result in women being denied reserved representation in the Goa Assembly for another five years.

The group has also called for safeguards to protect marginalised and vulnerable women and sought financial support for women candidates contesting elections.
The Coalition further demanded that the reservation be implemented without waiting for seat expansion, the Census or delimitation, arguing that these processes should not become barriers to greater political representation for women.
