MAPUSA: A tense situation prevailed at the Mapusa Police Station after a girl who attended a Dahi Handi programme alleged that she was molested by a man in the crowd.
Police arrested the alleged accused, identified as Gadvi, a resident of Karaswada, Mapusa. Following the alleged molestation, the girl and her friend followed the man and confronted him. Gadvi allegedly tried to flee but was stopped by a passerby who noticed the commotion.

He was subsequently handed over to the police. Meanwhile, the girl’s family members gathered at the police station and demand-ed that the police identify the accused and register an FIR against him immediately.
