Beaming with pride, Police Inspector Vikas Molu Deykar, who re ceived the President’s Col our from Union Home Min ister Amit Shah on behalf of the entire Goa Police, said it was a huge honour for him and added that the State po lice is always there to serve its people. Speaking about his feel ings on the momentous occasion, PI Deykar said, “Carrying the responsibility of representing the entire Goa Police force was a mo ment of immense pride and pressure. My primary focus during the ceremony was to ensure flawless execution and lead with complete ac countability.” Currently posted at the Crime Branch Police Sta tion, he said the selection process for the ceremony was conducted by instruc tors based on past service records and active volun tary participation in drills in Goa and other States. “In addition to drill per formance, the selection committee evaluated over all service history, including a clean service record, duty performance and strong professional relationships with seniors, peers and sub ordinates,” the PI said. While serving at the Crime Branch Police Sta tion, he successfully booked multiple cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psycho tropic Substances (NDPS) Act, including a notable seizure of 30 kg of ganja, as well as cases involving for eign nationals.

“I had led successful cross-border investigations, in cluding an operation in Nepal that resulted in the arrest of three accused individuals and the recovery of Rs 27 lakh, as well as official assignments across Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana,” the officer said. He also handled complex cases referred to the Crime Branch, including anti-prostitution drives and joint oper ations with other State police departments. Asked what the recognition meant to him and the Goa Police, he said it reflected the continuous hard work and sacrifices made by officers and the constabulary, who often put duty and public service ahead of personal and family time. “The force operates with complete dedication to protect ing and serving the people of Goa.
Receiving the President’s Colour sets a high benchmark, and the department is com mitted to maintaining this reputation and continuing to deliver its best for society,” he said. In conclusion, PI Deykar said public cooperation was essential for effective policing, as officers cannot be every where at once. “I urge citizens to remain vigilant, take responsibility and immediately report any suspicious activity or issues to the police to help maintain law and order,” he said.
