Indian Railways has announced operational changes affecting around 120 trains in the Delhi Division from September 11 to 13 in view of the BRICS Summit 2026. The changes are expected to affect passengers travelling through Delhi during the three-day period.
According to Northern Railway, several trains will be cancelled, diverted, rescheduled, regulated or have their originating and terminating stations changed due to operational reasons.

The changes include several prominent long-distance and premium services. Among the trains affected are the New Delhi-Ranchi Rajdhani Express, New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express, New Delhi-Sealdah Rajdhani Express, New Delhi-Howrah Rajdhani Express, New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express, Mumbai Tejas Rajdhani, New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Terminal Tejas Rajdhani and Vande Bharat services.
On September 12, several EMU services connecting Ghaziabad, New Delhi, Delhi Junction, Palwal and surrounding areas have been cancelled. These include trains 64425, 64432, 64429, 64433, 64441, 64410, 64443, 64418, 64445 and 64412, among others.
A number of trains will also operate on diverted routes. The Gomti Express, Shramjeevi Express, New Delhi-Sealdah Rajdhani, New Delhi-Howrah Rajdhani, Ghaziabad-Mathura EMU and other services have been diverted through alternative routes involving Delhi Junction, Delhi Shahdara, Sahibabad, Tilak Bridge and Hazrat Nizamuddin.
The New Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express, train number 22415, is among the services facing regulation on September 12. It will be regulated by 35 minutes over the National Capital Region. Other services, including the Paschim Express, Taj Express, Kerala Superfast Express and several long-distance trains, will also face delays or regulation.
Passengers on several premium trains should also expect late departures. The New Delhi-Mumbai Tejas Rajdhani is scheduled for a 25-minute late start on September 12, while the New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Tejas Rajdhani will leave 20 minutes late. The New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Terminal Tejas Rajdhani is scheduled to start 15 minutes late.
Other services, including the New Delhi-Chennai Tamil Nadu Superfast Express, Lucknow Mail, New Delhi-Indore Express and New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express, will also face changes in departure timings.
Some trains will have their journeys shortened, with services originating or terminating at stations other than their usual terminals. These changes include services beginning from Ghaziabad, Delhi Shahdara, Shakurbasti, Palwal and other stations instead of their scheduled origins.
The operational changes will continue on September 13, when several EMU services will be cancelled and multiple passenger and long-distance trains will be diverted. Some trains will also be short-terminated or short-originated.
Northern Railway has advised passengers to check the latest train status before travelling. Passengers can obtain updates through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or by calling railway helpline 139.
The changes are part of the operational arrangements during the BRICS Summit in the national capital and will remain in effect through September 13.
