Pakistan batter Babar Azam has established himself as one of the biggest names in world cricket, both on and off the field. Once regarded as one of the most dependable batters across formats, Babar has enjoyed a highly successful career and has also become one of Pakistan’s highest-earning cricketers.
However, his recent dip in form and decision to step down from captaincy have affected his standing. His latest Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) central contract has also resulted in a reduction in his monthly earnings.

Babar Azam’s PSL Salary
Babar began his Pakistan Super League (PSL) career in 2016 with Islamabad United, where he was initially placed in the Silver category and earned around USD 25,000. He moved to Karachi Kings the following year and gradually progressed from the Gold category to Diamond before eventually reaching the Platinum bracket.
During his stint as Karachi Kings captain between 2020 and 2022, Babar’s PSL salary increased significantly, reportedly ranging from USD 130,000 to USD 170,000. He later joined Peshawar Zalmi as captain in 2023.
By 2025, Babar was reportedly earning around USD 220,000, or approximately ₹1.88 crore, per PSL season, placing him among the league’s highest-paid players.
He also joined Sydney Sixers for the 2025-26 Big Bash League season after being selected in the Platinum category. His reported full-season deal was worth up to AUD 420,000, approximately ₹2.35 crore.
PCB Contract and Salary Cut
Babar’s earnings from international cricket were reduced under the PCB’s 2025-26 central contracts. The board did not award a Category A contract to any player, with Babar moving from Category A to Category B.
Under the new contract, he is reportedly set to earn PKR 3 million, or around ₹9.28 lakh, per month. His previous monthly salary was approximately PKR 4.5 million, equivalent to ₹13.95 lakh.
Reports have also suggested that the PCB was considering changes to the revenue-sharing arrangement linked to ICC earnings, potentially affecting player incomes further.
Endorsements and Brand Deals
Babar remains a major commercial name in Pakistan and has attracted endorsements from several international and domestic brands. Reports suggest he can command around ₹50 lakh for an individual endorsement.
His reported brand associations include Head & Shoulders, Oppo, Pepsi Pakistan, Huawei, HBL, Gatorade, Gray Nicolls, CA Sports, Bank Alfalah, JazzCash, Ufone 4G and Alkaram Studio.
