In a joint operation, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and the Goa Crime Branch ar rested 35-year-old Babu, a resident of Bahraich, for his involvement in the August 28 shooting of Shrinivas Nayak in Porvorim. He was brought back, produced before the court and remanded to four-day custody. Identified by Goa authorities as a key suspect, Babu was apprehend ed on Saturday evening just before he could escape to Nepal.
Securing his custody will allow the Crime Branch to question him about his alleged role in the shooting and investigate his possible links with others involved in the case. Babu is the fourth suspect arrest ed by the Goa Police in the shooting case. Other three suspects—identi fied as Qazu Sheikh, Israr Ali, and Suraj—were initially rounded up from Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai.
