PANJIM, AUG 4 The State government is seriously contemplating making solar water heaters compulsory in new houses. Minister for Science Technology and Environment Alexio Sequeira said that his department was seized on the issue of climate change.

The State government is seriously contemplating making solar water heaters compulsory in new houses.
Minister for Science Technology and Environment Alexio Sequeira said that his department was seized on the issue of climate change.
“In a bid to contribute from our end to check the global phenomenon, the government is seriously planning to make solar water heaters compulsory in new houses,” he stated.
Besides, Sequeira said, “we are also planning to create awareness on the use of CFL or LED bulbs across the state.”
Government is mulling a state action plan for climate change, he said.
“We shall ask the National Institute of Oceanography to prepare a state action plan on climate change,” he said adding “we have seriously been taking this issue.”
