Govt posts to be filled through GSSC: CM

PANJIM: All the posts lying vacant in various government departments will be filled through the Goa Staff Selection Commission (GSSC) from September this year, informed Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. 

Sawant was speaking at the launch of the GSSC website https://gssc.goa.gov.in/ at the Mantralaya, Porvorim, on Thursday. The website will be available in three different languages and is also Persons with Disability (PwD) friendly.

He said that all government posts other than those filled through Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) will now be filled through the GSSC. Exams for recruitment for all vacant posts in government departments will be held together, once in a year. All the departments have been asked to give details of the present vacant posts and the posts which will go vacant in the near future to the Staff Selection Commission within the next 60 days i.e. by July 31, this year. 

After this, recruitment process will commence for smaller number of posts in September and bulk posts by October. By November-December, the exams will be held together for all posts and actual recruitment would start, Sawant added. 

The Chief Minister further stated that the Goa Shipyard Limited, High Court, Goa University and other organisations may also send their requirement to the Goa Staff Selection Commission. 

The website launched on Thursday is available in three different languages and is also Persons with Disability (PwD) friendly, said the Chief Minister.

Sawant claimed that the recruitment through the Goa Staff Selection Commission will ensure that no injustice is meted out to any job seeker in the State. 

Recruitment for the earlier advertised posts including Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB), PWD etc will be completed by August 31, Sawant said.
