It is shocking to note that a garbage collection point without a shed is in operation just across the road outside a housing complex next to Tilak Maidan at Khariawado in Vasco.
There are several residential buildings in close proximity with shops on the ground floor. The garbage is also seen scattered on the road. Residents of the buildings have to suffer due to the unbearable stench emanating from the garbage.

Several children pass by the road as there are two schools in close proximity. The garbage collection point is an open invitation for diseases to spread among the residents as it is a breeding site for mosquitoes.
Things get worse during the rains. It is observed that fogging is carried out across Vasco city. However nothing is being done to alleviate the misery of the residents in this area despite bringing it to the notice of the concerned authorities. It is necessary to shift the garbage collection point to another location or at least provide a shed to collect the garbage.
