MARGAO: The Margao Municipal Council (MMC) chairperson Pooja Naik and Chief Officer Ajit Panchwadkar on Saturday conducted a joint inspection of Sonsoddo garbage dump site and assured to resolve the issue soon.
The action follows Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco’s request to the chairperson and chief officer.

MMC Chief Officer and chairperson assured that they will install a tin partition at the dump to avoid the garbage from flowing onto the road.
“The MMC has assured to start covering the dump, but has very little time. However, Sonsoddo is a much larger issue and all the three MLAs of Margao, Fatorda and Curtorim will cooperate and solve the problem soon. We hope to solve the problem in 3 or 4 years,” Reginaldo said.
