Sai Avtaar, Anjuna defeated Adarsh Yuvak Sangh 2-0 to move into quarter-finals of F&C Trophy soccer at Saligao Sporting grounds, Saligao today.
Both teams played well in the first half. However, hosts Adarsh dominated the game but could not translate their superiority in terms of goals. Sai too failed too score in the first half.
On changing ends, Adarsh played better and continued to dominate. However, it was against the run of play that Sai took the lead through Shekhar Kerkar off a corner in the 8th minute.
Down by a goal, the hosts raised their game in search of the equaliser but their forwards failed to find the net.
Sai Avtaar scored the 2nd goal in the dying minutes through Joseph Noronha.
