VASCO: In one of the most lopsided semi-finals ever to have been played at the MPT ground, Baina, here, Curtorim Gymkhana scored a mind boggling 8-0 victory over Bardez giants Saligao Sporting Club to move into the finals of the 40th HQ-NRB Bandodkar memorial all-Goa inter-village football tournament. Curtorim led 4-0 at the lemon break. The finals will be played on Sunday.
The Saligao lads matched their Salcete rivals till midway into the first half but once their citadel fell in the 18th minute, they simply caved in. Sertorio Monteiro scored four goals while Melvin Fernandes, Vicky Fernandes, Wilson Fernandes and Milagres Fernandes scored one goal apiece.

On Friday, at MPT ground, United Club of Telaulim scored a hard-fought 6-5 victory via the tie-breaker over United Club of Nerul to move into the finals. There was no score at the end of regulation time.
Both the teams put up a splendid display but the defences of both teams came out unscathed at the end of regulation time. Telaulim goalkeeper Chandrakant Naik played his heart out to keep his citadel from falling on quite a few occasions.
In the tie-breaker, Bittu Singh, Aliston Gomes, Joseph Dias, Wilton Gomes, Avlon Gomes and Jayson Pereira scored for Telaulim while Royston Pereira, Felix Bendo, Siddhesh Naik, Ryan Pereira and Melwin Lobo scored for Nerul.
Alvito Colaco of United Club of Telaulim won the man-of-the-match award.
