PANJIM: Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik on Saturday refused to admit that two or three Congress MLAs are waiting in line to join BJP, saying he has no knowledge of this.
“I guess Vishwajit (Rane) has more knowledge as he has come from the same camp,” Naik said when asked for his view on the Health Minister’s statement.
However, Naik agreed there are a few MLAs who are in constant touch. “There are people who are in touch with us but until the BJP National President Amit Shah tells us we do not know exactly,” he said.
Asked whether the Congress MLAs would be meeting Shah on Sunday, he expressed ignorance. When it was pointed out that there are already differences within the party over the Congress MLAs joining BJP, he said, “I can’t tell you anything of that sort now.”
